Shagrath is one of the founding members of Dimmu Borgir - along with Silenoz and Tjodalv. He is probably best known as the band's lead singer. However, he also played drums on Dimmu Borgir's full length debut "For All Tid".
Shagrath has a voice that is multi-dimensional, haunting, hateful and shows strong black metal roots. Aside from singing, Shagrath is a dedicated guitar and keyboard player.
Shagrath played guitar in Fimbulwinter until they split up in 1992. Fimbulwinter released one album, "Servants of Sorcery" through Hot Records in 1992. Shagrath also played keyboard in another Norwegian black metal band called Ragnarok. Another unknown was band "Starkness" a solo project of Shagrath.
